Rules

Please read these carefully, in the spirit of fairness to all by entering the show you agree to abide by them.

  1. Entrants with more than 4 entries please register by post, email/online or by telephone. Details here
  2. The building will be open from 8.15 until 10.15 am on the morning of the show, for staging and arranging of exhibits. All exhibitors must leave the building by 10.30 am precisely. Entries are limited to TWO per class, per exhibitor unless otherwise stated. Separate entry form is required for each entrant.
  3. Entry fee for all classes is 30pence except for children’s classes which are free. PRIZE MONEY FOR ALL CLASSES: 1st -£2.00, 2nd £1.00, 3rd 50p. POINTS AWARDED ARE 1st – 4, 2nd -2, 3rd – 1.
  4. Flowers for floral designs may be purchased
  5. All plants, flowers, vegetables etc must have been grown by the exhibitor unless otherwise stated. Naming the variety of your exhbit adds interest.
  6. All handicrafts and preserves must have been made/created by the exhibitor
  7. Exhibitors must adhere strictly to the number of sprays, blooms and vegetables where stated.
  8. Exhibitors are asked to return cups and trophies one month before the show to Jeny Clarkson, 01430 42219. Please make sure your trophy is clean and has been inscribed with your name.
  9. An exhibitor may lodge an objection before 3.00 pm on the day of the show. The complaint should be put in writing and handed to the show secretary and be accompanied by a fee of £1, which is non-refundable.
  10. The judges decision is final. Judges are empowered to withold prizes where exhibits are not considered to be of sufficient merit. RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) rules are applied.
  11. The committee will not be responsible for any losses or damage to the exhibits, but every care will be taken of them.
  12. Exhibits must be collected by 4.00 pm on show day. Any remaining exhibits after this time will be deemed property of the show.
  13. Residents are entrants with a postal address within Ellerker, South Cave and Everthorpe
